Bronx Botanical Garden

I had won a gift card to Havana Cafe in the Bronx and made plans to trek up north with my friend Johnson but also wanted to make the 1.5 hour trip up a bit more eventful. Bronx Botanical came up as a nearby attraction. Every winter there's a neat holiday train show of miniature New York landmarks replicated with organic material. The show runs through January and I appreciated that it kept the Christmas spirit alive with the decorations and classic carols. (Pro tip: Book tickets in advance or you will have to wait ~1-2 hours for the next open window.) We killed time by riding the tram (dress warm yo) around the garden, but pretty much everything was dormant zzz.

Winter here is pretty desolate but there's something beautiful in the stillness of nature's slumber.
