Novelty

The phases of moving to a new city...first novelty. Senses are heightened. Details are taken in at the highest frequency and speed but quickly blur, replaced by the next. The repetitive daily commute is met with something new not accounted for during the previous trips. Willingness to even take the scenic route or maximize as many combination cross street routes across the grid is entertained. Concentrated input in the brief amount of time has a sense of jet lag, unsure of what to adjust or adapt to. There is an odd sensation to moving somewhere by flight, of being somewhere completely different only a few hours earlier. The time capsule does not allow for transition. Transition gradually enters the story after novelty loses its shine.
