Gotta get down on Friday

My buddy Beast Chen and I took a FriDAY trip down to LA...old school style with the whole public transit, paper maps, and pedestrian mode. We covered much ground in just one afternoon.

Itinerary | Little Tokyo & Arts District

Goldline | Alternative transportation my friend. Save the earth. Save the monie$.

Suehiro Cafe | Casual eatery, home style Japanese cooking.

お雑煮
Japanese New Year's Mochi Soup | This dish was recommended by our server...we were expecting udon because it was under the udon section. It was quite unique...like eating toasted marshmallows in soup.

Too eager.
Koyasan Buddhist Temple | 高野山米国別院

James Irvine Japanese Garden | Seeking balance between nature and built environments.

It was closed for a private event. :(
A security guard recommended us to check out a nearby hotel's rooftop Japanese garden. It took us forever to find our way into the hotel...and even longer to find a restroom lol.

Making my way downtown, walking fast.

Higashi Honganji Buddhist Temple | ロサンゼルス東本願寺別院

X-lanes | I thought this was going to be a retro arcade, but it was still pretty fun even though I got pwned at every game...except basketball. ^_^ Photography was prohibited...so I was only able to sneak a blurry one in and the pity prize we won.

Art District | So much talent on the walls. Sadly the flea market was closed for renovation.

Mitsuru Cafe | Crowded as usual. They ran out of dango. :(
