Orchestra
I was reminded this past weekend of the thrill that comes from being part of orchestra. The maestro that usually conducts my home church's orchestra invited me to play for a large outreach event in Irvine. During our first rehearsal on Thursday, we combined with the choir...and a wave of emotions just engulfed me. It was so exhilarating to hear. Just like those epic movie scores.
I can't even begin to describe this feeling. If the audience thinks they hear brilliance...it's like a whole other dimension when you're within the sound.
Another really neat thing was that the musicians didn't all speak the same verbal language, but we all could read music notes and convey the same message to the audience. Music is the universal language. Sigh. It was beautiful. :')
However, I definitely couldn't ignore the cultural differences which resulted in some tension heh. The event was held by a Chinese church...so a lot of things ran on "Asian time" and some people weren't too pleased with the timing of things.
But we still sounded fantastic...Hallelujah. Praise the Lord for music.
